Covid 19 takes 620 more lives in Iran

Latest figures indicate that 620 more Iranians have died from the coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the cumulative number of deaths to 97,828.

Iran (IMNA) - Ignoring social distancing and wearing masks by people, Iranian officials have imposed a 5-day lockdown since Saturday across the country to curb the spread of a fifth wave of the coronavirus.

The new coronavirus is killing one person every 2 minutes in Iran; the country's health authorities have warned that the death rate of the Coronavirus will be increased if Iranians continue to fail to adhere to health protocols.

36,726 new coronavirus infections were identified over the past 24 hours, of whom 4,272 have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 4,425,821 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 3,728,940 of the cases cured or discharged from the hospitals.

Iran has implemented the tough preventive measures to courb the coronavirus transmission and flatten the curve of new infections.
