Iran (IMNA) - Ignoring social distancing and wearing masks by people, Iranian officials have imposed a 5-day lockdown since Saturday across the country to curb the spread of a fifth wave of the coronavirus.

36,726 new coronavirus infections were identified over the past 24 hours, of whom 4,272 have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.
There have been nearly 4,425,821 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 3,728,940 of the cases cured or discharged from the hospitals.
Iran has implemented the tough preventive measures to courb the coronavirus transmission and flatten the curve of new infections.
