Iran (IMNA) - Iran on Monday reported 23,311 new coronavirus cases, bringing the number of active infections to 2,093,452, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health.
Sima Sadat Lari, Iran's Health Ministry spokeswoman, reported that another 274 COVID-19 patients have died from the virus, taking the country's total COVID-19 related fatalities to 64,746.
The extremely high incidence of infections has imposed heavy overload on hospital services. Having regard to the predominance of viral variants with higher transmissibility, the need to maintain a dramatic reduction of physical interactions between people and of mobility is on the agenda.
