COVID-19 killed 59,572 Iranians

The spokeswoman of Iran's health ministry reported 8,263 additional Coronavirus cases and 89 more deaths, bringing the official number of cases to 1,582,275 and the death toll to 59,572.

Iran (IMNA) - The spokesperson of Iran's health ministry, Sima Sadat Lari, said that 89 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 59,572.

8,263 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, of whom 807 have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 1,582,275 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 1,351,390 of the cases cured or discharged from the hospitals.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 112 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 2,479,313; however, more than 87,392,775 people have recovered.
