7,922 New Cases and 68 Deaths

The coronavirus pandemic caused by the new respiratory virus‌‌‌‌‌‌ has killed over 2,465,517 people and infected 111,331,649 worldwide; UK Coronavirus variant cases continue to surge in Iran with hospitals reporting new records.

‌‌‌‌‌‌Iran (IMNA) - Iran's Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat-Lari said on Saturday that 68 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 59,409.

Some 2,845 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, some 1,149 of whom have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 1,566,081 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 1,337,877 of whom cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 111 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 2.4 million; however, more than 86 million people have recovered.
