Iran reports 5,945 new COVID-19 cases

Iran’s death toll from the coronavirus outbreak has risen to 57,383, with 89 more overnight, Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education Sima Sadat Lari said on Sunday, adding the total number of infected cases has reached 1,372,977.

Iran (IMNA) - During the previous week, the government lifted a ban on travel between Iranian provinces, while restrictions on trips between red provinces will remain in effect until further notice.

"There were 5,945 new infected cases in the past 24 hours; furthermore, 1,164,794 of total infected with the virus have been recovered” Health ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 99 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 2,131,726 million; however, more than 71,457,920 million people have recovered.
