Iran reports 6,045 new COVID-19 cases

The number of people worldwide who have died with Covid-19 has passed 1,836,588.

Iran (IMNA) - The spokesperson of Iran's health ministry, Sima Sadat Lari, said that 101 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 55,438.

6,045 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, of whom 639 have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 1,237,474 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 1,004,326 of the cases cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The focus of Iranian officials' efforts have been centered on taking measures to contain the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 84 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 1,836,588; however, more than 59,729,842 people have recovered.
