COVID-19 kills 134 more in Iran over past 24 hours

The spokesperson of the country’s health ministry said that 134 more Iranians have died as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours, taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 54,574.

Iran (IMNA) - 5,760 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, of whom 732 have been hospitalized, Sima Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 1,194,963 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 942,548 of the cases cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 80 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 1,759,375; however, more than 56 million people have recovered.

Many public places such as gyms have been closed; however, careless people keep traveling between cities and attending large gatherings. These violations may rise a spike in cases again despite the strict charges on disobediences.
