Isfahan's Research Council to develop municipality's achievements

Saying that the formation of the Research Council will increase the achievements of the municipality, the Director of research, creativity and new technologies center at the municipality of Isfahan noted, "The effort of this council is to follow up the research-centric measures and apply the results of projects in the city and Isfahan's municipality as well."

Iran (IMNA) - "One of the necessary pillars in the municipality of Isfahan is the establishment of the Research Council for participatory and consensus-based decision making processes in relation to the research needs of the municipality," Morteza Nosouhi said.

Referring to the framework of the municipal research council, he added, "This council, which has been formed under the chairmanship of the mayor of Isfahan, will hold a conference for the first time next month."

The Director of research, creativity and new technologies center at the municipality of Isfahan continued, "In the field of research, need assessment processes are carried out by the research management board together with expert teams working on different fields; this year with the establishment of the Research Council we can be more confident that the urban subjects on the agenda are reviewed more precisely."

"After the identification of research needs, one of the missions of the center is to forecast and develop policy to the budget required for research and make decisions regarding the intellectual property rights of research projects," he said.

Nosouhi pointed out, "The package of technical proposals is first received and examined by Municipal Council to be scored and prioritized based on defined criteria."

A series of results could address the urban challenges including reassessing the current capacity of municipalities, the establishment of research centers, the modification of municipalities' laws, human resource development and the encouragement of joint surveys.
