Coronavirus kills 153 more Iranians over past 24 hours

The coronavirus pandemic caused by the new respiratory virus has claimed the lives of over 1,726,233 people and infected 78,462,209 across the world.

Iran (IMNA) - Sima Sadat Lari, the Iranian health ministry spokeswoman, said on Wednesday that 153 more Iranians have died as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours bringing the country’s total deaths to 54,156.

6,261 new coronavirus infections has been identified over the past 24 hours, some 1,075 of whom have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 1,177,004 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 78 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at 1,726,23; however, more than 55 million people have recovered.
