Iran reports 6,208 new COVID-19 cases

The number of people worldwide who have died with Covid-19 has passed 1,711,479.

Iran (IMNA) - The spokesperson of Iran's health ministry, Sima Sadat Lari, said that 187 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 54,003.

6,208 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, of whom 915 have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 1,170,743 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 903,998 of the cases cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 77 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 1,711,479; however, more than 54,705,319 people have recovered.

Due to the reports on the staggering high death, Iranian authorities have imposed partial quarantine to curb the transmission of the Coronavirus.
