Iran reports 7,121 new COVID-19 cases

New cases of coronovirus infections declined in Iranian provinces where serious restrictions have been put in place by officials to curb the new wave of the COVID-19 ahead of the winter season.

Iran (IMNA) - Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said that 178 more Iranians have died as a result of the Covid -19 pandemic over the past 24 hours bringing the country’s total death toll to 53,273.

7,121 new infections were recorded in the last 24 hours, Sadat Lari said.

1,145,651 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in Iran; 865,474 of the cases cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The efforts of Iranian health officials have focused to slow the spread of coronavirus.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 75,460,235 and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 1,671,867; however, more than 53 million people have recovered.
