Iran (IMNA) - Referring to the environmental problem of air pollution in the city, the mayor of Isfahan said, "some days ago, due to the intense air pollution, offices, banks and some other institutions were closed; nevertheless, the situation will not improve by one day off; the only solution is to understand the nature of pollution and play our social role in tackling the issue."
Ghodratollah Norouzi, addressing the development of public transportation with the aim of reducing air pollution, continued, “in addition to launching metro line 1 to reduce car traffic and air pollution, we are also constructing the second line, for fulfillment of which a great deal of money has been spent.”
"If the municipality of Isfahan has incurred such a heavy expenditure to the construction of the city’s fourth ring road and completion of urban projects, the most important goal has been to reduce traffic and development of public transportation,” the mayor of Isfahan said.
