Coronavirus kills 247 more in Iran over past 24 hours

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed the lives of over 1,613,693 people and infected 72,208,775 across the world.

Iran (IMNA) - Sima Sadat Lari, the Iranian health ministry spokeswoman, said on Sunday that 247 more Iranians have died as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours bringing the country’s total deaths to 52,196.

7451 new coronavirus infections have been identified over the past 24 hours, some 833 of whom have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 1,108,269 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 72 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at 1,613,693; however, more than 50 million people have recovered.
