10,403 New Cases and 284 Deaths

The Coronavirus pandemic caused by the new respiratory virus‌‌‌‌‌‌ has killed over 1,578,483 people and infected 69,376,453 worldwide.

‌‌‌‌‌‌Iran (IMNA) - Iran's Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat-Lari said on Sunday that 284 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 51,496.

Some 10,403 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, some 1,458 of whom have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 1,083,023 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Iran, 778,160 of whom cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 69 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 1,578,483; however, more than 48,149,031 people have recovered.

Iran is preparing to start vaccinating its high-risk population against Covid-19; the head of the Science Committee of National Coronavirus Headquarters, Mostafa Qanei, announced that three domestic coronavirus vaccines will undergo human trials next month.
