COVID-19 claimed 51,212 lives so far

The spokeswoman of Iran's health ministry reported 10223 additional Coronavirus cases and 295 more deaths, bringing the official number of cases to 1,072,620 and the death toll to 51,212.

Iran (IMNA) - The spokesperson of Iran's health ministry, Sima Sadat Lari, said that 295 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 51,212.

10223 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, of whom 1747 have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 880,542 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 617,715 of the cases cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to keep the virus ar bay and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 68 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 1,565,819; however, more than 47,591,685 people have recovered.

Over the past weeks, Iranian authorities have enacted policies to close nonessential businessesto curb the transmission of the Coronavirus.
