Iran reports 13,721 new COVID-19 cases

The coronavirus pandemic caused by the new respiratory virus has killed over 1,404,725 worldwide.

Iran (IMNA) - The spokesperson of Iran's health ministry, Sima Sadat Lari, said that 483 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 45,738.

13,721 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, of whom 2801 have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 880,542 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 617,715 of the cases cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 59 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 1,404,725; however, more than 41,276,281 people have recovered.

Due to the reports on the staggering high death, Iranian authorities have enacted policies to close nonessential businessesto curb the transmission of the Coronavirus.
