Coronavirus kills 480 more in Iran over past 24 hours

The coronavirus pandemic caused by the new respiratory virus has claimed the lives of over 1,345,893 people and infected 56,049,242 across the world.

Iran (IMNA) - Sima Sadat Lari, the Iranian health ministry spokeswoman, said on Wednesday that 480 more Iranians have died as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours bringing the country’s total deaths to 42,941.

13,421 new coronavirus infections has been identified over the past 24 hours, some 2,837 of whom have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 801,894 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 56 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at 1,345,893; however, more than 39 million people have recovered.
