Iran (IMNA) -"Adaptation of urban spaces for people with disabilities, elderly veterans and the physically disabled is a necessity that has been recognized as a priority in line with macro and executive policies of Isfahan Municipality," Seyed Ahmad Hosseini - nia noted.
Emphasizing that in recent years, many efforts have been carried out in the Municipality of Isfahan to adapt buildings and urban spaces, the deputy mayor of Isfahan for urban planning and architecture said, "the realization of the right to a decent life for people with disabilities in the city, along with equal opportunities, requires serious determination from the responsible authorities."
Seyed Ahmad Hosseini - nia added, "In this regard, Isfahan Municipality has responded to the needs of the blind and disabled people in the field of urban space adaptation by forming urban space improvement headquarters with the aim of implementing regulations through needs assessment, policy-making and prioritization, monitoring and controlling the enforcement of development projects, allocating budgets to urban appropriation projects in parks and municipal buildings."
The deputy mayor of Isfahan for urban planning and architecture said "the bill to make use of fare-free inter-city transportation system for the disabled and the establishment of a special system for accessible public transport to people with disabilities will be soon submitted to the Islamic City Council of Isfahan by the Municipality."
