Iran battling surge in cases

The coronavirus pandemic caused by the new respiratory virus‌‌‌‌‌‌ has killed over 1,007,220 people and infected 33,589,099 worldwide; Coronavirus cases continue to surge in Iran with hospitals in most provinces reporting new records with regularity.

Iran (IMNA) - The health ministry spokeswoman said that 207 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 25,986.

3,677 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, some 1,847 of whom have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 453,637 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 378,727 of whom cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 33 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 1 million; however, more than 24 million people have recovered.
