Iran Coronavirus: 2,845 New Cases and 166 Deaths

The coronavirus pandemic caused by the new respiratory virus‌‌‌‌‌‌ has killed over 957000 people and infected 30,723,911 worldwide; Coronavirus cases continue to surge in Iran with hospitals in provinces such as Tehran and Isfahan reporting new records with regularity.

‌‌‌‌‌‌Iran (IMNA) - Iran's Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat-Lari said on Sunday that 166 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 24,118.

Some 2,845 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, some 1,149 of whom have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 416,198 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 357,632 of whom cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 30 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 957 thousand; however, more than 22 million people have recovered.
