Iran (IMNA) - "Simultaneously with the beginning of the academic year, new measures have been taken to provide better services for students and help prevent the spread of the coronavirus," Ahmadreza Tahanian the CEO of Isfahan Urban and Suburban Railway Organization said.

At the moment, the subway is running on a schedule from 6:15 am to 10:00 pm at 15-minute intervals.

"With the beginning of the academic year, time intervals between the adjacent arrival trains in the same direction and station will not be changed, but during rush hours and based on the volume of passengers, there will be additional trains into service".

The CEO of Isfahan Metro Company emphasized, "All health protocols and social distancing rules in Isfahan metro trains have been observed so far, and eye-catching posters on hygiene-related topics are being displayed through monitors inside the trains and bulletin boards inside the stations."

Noting that wearing protective face masks throughout the transit system is mandatory, Tahanian said, "Despite the unfavorable dire financial situation of the company, in order to improve the conditions and ensure the well-being of citizens and optimal use of technology, four ultraviolet-C (UVC) lamps and lights to disinfect the spaces from COVID-19 have been installed in different parts of stations."

Tahanian continued, "removing single tickets to make a one-way journey in cash and eliminating paper ticket sales as well as observing the social distancing rules in front of the ticket counters, waiting platforms and inside the wagons are among the measures being put in place to promote contactless procedures".
