Iran, Austria strengthening scientific ties

Iranian and Austrian universities will interact on conducting 17 joint research projects.

Iran (IMNA) - In the course of a meeting between Iranian Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology for International Affairs Hossein Salar Amoli and Alexander Rieger Austrian Deputy Head of Mission in Iran.

In the rendezvous, the Iranian official said that enough groundwork has been laid to conduct technological activities, and hoped that researchers and inventors would exert their all- out- efforts in this regard.

Considering the coronavirus pandemic, Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology for International Affairs put forward a proposal for betiding the third Iran-Austria joint working group on science and research via webinars to make the joint projects come into effect.

The coronavirus pandemic has suspended many activities across the world, and particularly international conferences have been faced a daunting challenge.

"Fighting against COVID19 pandemic needs global cooperation," Salar-Amoli noted.

For his part, Alexander Rieger addressed the measures of the Austrian Cultural Forum (ÖKF) in Tehran which has so far taken various initiatives to boost cultural exchanges between Austrian and Iranian scholars and artists.

He looked forward to establishing academic ties between Austrian and Iranian universities through online researches.

Relations between Iran and Austria have been peaceful since 160 years ago as both sides attach great importance to mutual trust.
