Isfahan set foot in final stage of being child friendly city

Deputy Mayor of Isfahan for Urban Planning and Architecture said, "Isfahan has successfully hit the pilot phase of being as a child-friendly city and set foot in the stage of receiving the candidacy logo as the official recognition."

Iran (IMNA) - "A child-friendly city (CFC) is a city or community where governance system committed to boost the lives of children by exercising their rights and meeting their needs; in such city, children's voices, priorities and rights are recognized as an indispensable part of public policies, programs and decisions, " Seyed Ahmad Hosseini-Nia noted.

"Backed by the local and national governments, non-governmental organizations, private sectors, media outlets and universities and in collaboration with UNICEF, Child Friendly City Initiative includes more than 30 million children in 3000 cities and local communities in over 40 countries across the world," he added.

According to UNICEF, the vision for the global CFCI programme is that every child and young person enjoys their childhood and youth and reaches their full potential through equal realization of their rights within their cities and communities.

It is worth mentioning that UNICEF CFCI brand will be awarded only after the city strongly fulfills the CFCI Cycle. During the pilot phase, the city will not receive the official recognition of a Child Friendly City.
