Armenia keen to strengthen parliamentary ties with Iran

Calling for escalating parliamentary ties with Iran, Ararat Mirzoyan, the current President of the National Assembly of Armenia, congratulated Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf on his being elected as the head of Iranian parliament.

Iran (IMNA) - In his message, Mirzoyan said that Armenia places great significance to centuries of stable and mutual relations with Iran.

President of the National Assembly of Armenia wished success for Qalibaf during his incumbency and made a remark on the experiences he has previously practiced in the defensive and security positions as well as being the mayor of Tehran.

He expressed hope for broaden parliamentary relations and acceleration of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Late last month, Iranian parliamentarians elected Qalibaf as the new speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.
