Happy Eid al-Fitr

For Muslims across the world, who follow the lunar calendar, the fasting month of Ramadan ends at the beginning of Shawwal with sighting of the crescent moon in the sky. The Iranians are celebrating the Eid Al-Fitr today as the new moon has been sighted in the country.

Iran (IMNA) - For most of the world’s Muslim communities, the holy month of Ramadan has been spent in isolation and global quarantine this year, with holy places closed due to the coronavirus.

As Eid al fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, arrives today many Muslim communities are holding online events starting on May 24 to commemorate this religious festival.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, announced today as Ei-al-Fitr after receiving multiple reports from reliable religious scholars on the sighting of the Shawwal moon.

President Hassan Rouhani congratulated Eid al-Fitr to all Iranians, wishing that God would accept their fasting, prayers and good deeds.
