Cultural Week of Isfahan to be held online

Congratulating the Cultural Week of Isfahan, Ghodratollah Norouzi said, "in the current situation, it is not possible to hold mass gatherings; rather, the special events of Isfahan's Cultural Week will be held online due to the ongoing spread of the novel coronavirus.

Iran (IMNA) The mayor of Isfahan continued, "Last year, the events and programs of the Cultural Week were run with a change in approach under the slogan of "Empathy Week for Iran" following the flash floods in Khuzestan and Khorramabad provinces."

"This year, the municipality has planned to get the Isfahan's Cultural Week online; Special prayers have been considered for the holy fasting month of Ramadan. We believe that the threat posed by Coronavirus has led the city to make better use of capacities in cyberspace in the future," he emphasized.

The municipality is at the forefront of the fight against the coronavirus

Referring to the municipality's efforts to curb the coronavirus, Norouzi said, "Since the very beginning of the outbreak, the municipality has taken many measures to protect the health of citizens. I appreciate all practices handled by the municipal organizations particularly our employees in Urban Services Department and cultural centers, firefighters and sweepers.

Adding that the municipality has been at the forefront of the fight against corona, the mayor said, "disinfection of public sidewalks, crowded places, buses and taxis, subway wagons and bus stations are among the anti- corona practices in this regard. Also, the municipality created a good cultural atmosphere with extensive advertisements in the city to implement the social distancing concept."

Pointing to the distribution of 120,000 personal hygiene products in deprived areas by the municipality, he ended, "valuable measures have been taken in the field of public transport, so that the social distancing concept in public transport is well observed; citizens are expected to take Coronavirus seriously or otherwise it threatens everyone's health".
