Isfahan municipality's efforts to curb coronavirus

“More than 4.5 million liters of decontamination solution have been used in the past 40 days to disinfect the city's passageways and streets. 100 Phalanx of sanitation workers with 40 huge truck mounted sprayers disinfect public surfaces, urban facilities, hospitals, doctors' offices, gas stations, mosques, malls and pharmacies daily,” Hossein Amiri, deputy for urban services at the municipality of Isfahan said.

Iran (IMNA) - Isfahan Municipality's Coronavirus Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Headquarters including five main committees, seven task forces and 15 executive committees in the 15 municipal districts, have taken effective preventive measures to curb the spread of coronavirus.

“Keeping Isfahani citizens healthy has been a priority for city’s management board,” Amiri emphasized.

“In order to warn the citizens about the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), more than 150,000 educational brochures have been published and distributed among citizens. Over 700 out of home billboards have been dedicated to inform on the coronavirus. Productive information through virtual networks has also been released,” deputy for urban services continued.

Currently, due to the outbreak of the corona virus, only 15% of the urban bus fleet capacity is being used.

Isfahan Metro Line 1 has also been closed and passenger terminals are operating in accordance with health and safety protocols. 45 special teams of the Prevention Headquarters are patrolling the 15 districts of the city 24 hours a day.

According to the special order of the mayor of Isfahan, it was decided to check the crowd distribution in public transport buses of Isfahan as soon as possible.

“According to the special order, it was decided to investigate the crowd distribution in public transport buses of Isfahan as soon as possible and if necessary, increase the capacity in certain lines.

Currently, the number of lines have been limited as needed and 30% of the fleet is active, but some citizens are required to attend work or medical centers.”
