Delgosha Garden in Shiraz

One of the historical gardens of Shiraz located next to the Tomb of Saadi is called Delgosha Garden.

Iran (IMNA) – Delgosha Garden is a historical monument that refers to three eras of Sassanian, Safavid, and Qajar eras. This garden was very amazing and attractive during the Timurid period, so the king Timur ordered to build another garden in Samarghand after visiting this garden and called it again "Delgosha".

Delgosha is situated in one of the best locations of Shiraz, with an area of 7.5 hectares. It should be mentioned that the garden was suffered from abundant damages during the Nadershah governance and Zandiyeh dynasty; It was renovated again in Karimkhan era.

The main building of the garden consists of three stories with two entrances in two sides. The mansion of the garden was built according to the architecture of Sassanian palaces in the Bishapour, which include a hall and four special sections. The second floor has a big veranda with two columns that its view directed toward the stone pond. In addition, mirror works, oil paintings, wooden ceilings, and stuccos embellished with flowers add to its beauty.

There is a museum inside the pavilion full of ancient objects that attract every visitor. You can see a decent collection of coins, a Seljuk Quran written on the skin of a deer, clothes, carpets, containers, stamp, old bicycles, collection of radios, and Iran maps in different eras in this museum.

The garden is very beautiful and attractive during spring because of its blooming tangerine trees. Delgosha Garden was inscribed in the list of Iran's National Monuments in 2002, with the registration number of 912.
