Iran counter outbreak despite cruel sanctions

Referring to the cruel and inhuman sanctions aimed at putting pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Iranian embassy in Belgium announced in a statement that Tehran welcomes any assistance and cooperation in the fight against the virus.

Iran (IMNA) - Appreciating the international assistance and aids that have been provided to Iran so far, the statement reads as follow:

Despite inhumane sanctions in all domains, doctors and healthcare personal are at the forefront to counter the New Coronavirus.

As the outbreak of the virus in Iran was emerged with two deaths from coronavirus on February 20, the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has mobilized all of its sanctioned resources to end the outbreak.

The statement outlined some of Iran's measures over the past two weeks, including the establishment of 3,000 emergency response teams, providing mobile hospitals, mass production of disinfectants and masks, widespread disinfection of streets and sidewalks, reducing working hours, issuing health guidelines at various border checkpoints, imposing restrictions on travel within and between cities, and the cancellation of rail and air travels.

Suspension of religious, cultural, social, and school programs and closure of all universities by the end of this year (March 20), close cooperation with WHO and China expert teams, effective measures against the hoarding of medical equipment required to control the outbreak, creation of a large number of infographics, movies and podcasts that inform people on the virus, are the effective measures to control and end the virus.
