Unconfirmed information on coronavirus should not be released by media

"Iran is still safe regarding the corona virus detection. We have not identified any new cases of the virus so far and there has not been any suspected cases in the country during the last two days," the Head of the Health Ministry's Public Relations and Information Center said:

Iran (IMNA) - "Unconfirmed information about suspected cases or death tolls due to the Corona virus being released by some media outlets, including trustworthy news sources is not true; we do not expect reputable media to reproduce cyber rumors," Kianoush Jahanpour stressed.

‌Preliminary lab test results for coronavirus of Iranian students returning from Wuhan, China confirmed negative cases. However they remain quarantined for another week, as some medical sources cite a latency period of 14 days.

Kianush Jahanpur, the Head of the Health Ministry's Public Relations and Information Center added that repeating the corona test for these students have been carried out according to the Protocol for the Control of coronavirus infections of the department for Infectious Disease Management at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.

"Although the number of confirmed corona virus cases and death tolls have increased in china and 9 countries have been affected by the virus, WHO's Global Pandemic- Alert Levels has not changed, so the preventive measures to control the infectious disease including border controls, maintained at the same level as it was before," Jahanpur ended.
