Leader: Anyone interested in Iran should go to polling stations

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that anyone interested in Iran should take part in the elections.

Iran (IMNA) - Anyone interested in Iran and its security should go to the polling stations, the Supreme Leader said in his address to thousands of people from all walks of life in Tehran.

Assembly of Experts' mid-term election and 11th parliamentary election are to be held on February 21 nationwide.

Thousands of people met with the Leader this morning on the occasion of 41st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on Feb 11.

Speaking about the Deal of Century, the Leader said the deal will die before Trump's own death.

"You saw that the U.S. bullies and hooligans unveiled the plan of the so-called Deal of the Century. They have wishfully chosen a big name for it so that it may be realized, but this plan:
1. is stupid;
2. is a sign of viciousness;
3. has been detrimental to them since day one."

According to Supreme Leader's official website (Khamenei.ir), Ayatollah Khamenei said "The American plot of the 'Deal of the Century' will die before Trump dies."

"The so-called plan of the ‘Deal of the Century’ is foolish because it will definitely NOT have any result. It is foolish to come and sit, spend money, invite, create an uproar, and unveil a plan that is doomed to failure."

"Moreover, this plan is indicative of the U.S.'s viciousness and manipulation. They have come to negotiate with the Zionists over what belongs to the Palestinians! Palestine belongs to the Palestinians. Who are you to make a decision on it?!"

"The ‘Deal of the Century’ has hurt themselves since day one. The arrogant powers have tried to make Palestine forgotten. But, their efforts gave the opposite results and revived the question of Palestine. Now the world is talking about Palestine and the rights of its oppressed people."

"Don't look at the presence of a few, traitorous Arab heads of state for the 'Deal of the Century'. They’re incompetent and have no respect among their own nation. The unveiling of this plan caused Palestine to be spoken about more in the world and revived this issue."

"They will try to further their plot with bribes, weapons and enticements. What's the remedy? It is bold resistance by the Palestinian nation and groups in order to force out the Zionist enemy and the U.S. through Jihad. All Muslim nations and the world of Islam must support them too."

"The Palestinian armed organizations will stand and continue to resist. Fortunately, this resistance in west Asia is not limited to Palestine and encompasses a vast area and will grow daily. Iran considers it its duty to support Palestinian groups and will help them in any way they can."

"A fundamental solution to the Palestinian issue is Iran's proposal: Conduct a poll of all Palestinians in the world, including Muslims, Christians and Jews—not immigrants who settled in the occupied lands—to choose a govt. That government decide on immigrants and people like Netanyahu."

"I hope you young people will one day witness the liberation of Palestine, and that you will see that day, God Willing when you will perform prayers in al-Quds - which is so important for these enemies too."

The Supreme Leader referred to the upcoming Parliamentary elections and said, “A strong Parliament is one factor that leads to a powerful Iran. The formation of a strong Parliament depends on a large part of the nation voting. Perhaps, someone doesn’t like me, but if he/she likes Iran, they should come to the ballot box. So anyone who likes Iran, and likes security, the resolution of problems, and the appropriate use of intellectuals, should participate in elections.”

Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei stated, “When some traitorous, foreign media try to describe the crowd of millions of Iranians as a few thousand, and at the same time, they refer to the movement of a few hundred people in the streets as the entire nation, naturally the people won’t trust them. Of course, as long as such media is not fed false reports for their misuse from inside the country.”

In the end, the Supreme Leader praised Iran’s electoral system and slammed those who try to upset public opinion by making false claims and attacking the Guardian Council and asserted, “Elections in Iran are among the healthiest in the world. When you lie and say these elections are engineered or say they are not real elections, they are appointments, people become discouraged. Attacking the Guardian Council is one of the worst actions. The Guardian Council, which is composed of six impartial jurists and six eminent experts in law selected by the Parliament, is respected in the constitution. They are a trustworthy entity. How can a person easily accuse them of partiality?”
