Iran (IMNA) - Referring to the daily status of coronavirus infections worldwide, the head of the Ministry of Health's Center for Infectious Disease Management said, "What has been circulating in the Iranian cyberspace regarding the identification of the new coronavirus in neighboring countries is different from reality; the fatality rate of coronavirus is far less than SARS and MERS."
"Any time we face with the first cases of the disease, we will announce it immediately after the confirmation," Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Gooya noted.
The new Corona virus has not reached Iran's neighbors
"What is rumored today that the new Corona virus has reached Iran's neighborhood, is not true. According to reports from the World Health Organization, the new coronavirus has not been reported in Iraq, Kurdistan of Iraq, Pakistan and any of the Iran’s neighboring countries; Only one country in the region has confirmed the first case of the virus, which is the United Arab Emirates," he continued.
"The symptoms of the new coronavirus are similar to the early symptoms of influenza and other viral respiratory diseases, and doctors may not be able to detect it," the head of the Ministry of Health's Centers for Disease Control said.
