Similarities between Isfahan, Paris resulted in constructive interactions

"Isfahan is half the world; a city which is known for its culture and civilization across the world and we are all well aware of that," the ambassador of France to Iran, Philippe Thiébaud said.

Iran (IMNA) – Introducing Isfahan in a joint meeting with the ambassador of France to Iran on cultural and academic issues, the mayor of Isfahan said, "Isfahan is the runner-up active city in various cultural, tourism, scientific, and academic fields in Iran."

"History indicates the friendship and cooperation of French people with Iranians; now we hope to establish good relationships between the two countries as before," Ghodratollah Norouzi said.

Pointing to a threefold increase in the number of scholarships offered by the French government to Iranian students and expressing the readiness of this country to build more cultural and academic relations with the universities of Isfahan, the ambassador of France to Iran said, "Each year, the French government provides the opportunity for Iranian students to pursue their education by offering scholarships of French universities."

Welcoming the suggestion of the ambassador of France to Iran regarding increasing the cultural interactions between Iran and France, the mayor of Isfahan said, "Similarities between Isfahan and Paris have resulted in constructive interactions."

Pointing to the project of Isfahan 2020, he continued, "Isfahan has a tendency to interact with the whole world and extend the cultural and academic relationships such as holding the cultural week of Paris in Isfahan."
