21 documentaries displayed in world section of 4th Slemani International Film Festival

At least 21 feature-length and short documentaries were displayed in the world section of 4th Slemani International Film Festival and won Gold Pine Award of this international prestigious event in Iraqi Kurdistan region.

Iran (IMNA) - The Iranian film "Beloved" by Yaser Talebi received plaque of honor and the Russian film "Terra by Julia Kushnarenko won Golden Pine Award of the festival

The jury members of the competition section of World Cinema and Kurdish Cinema were Iranian director, producer, researcher and photographer, Mehrdad Oskouei, Sri Lankan director and producer, Anomaa Rajakaruna, and Etami Borjan, University Film Studies Professor from Croatia.

The 21 feature-length and short documentaries which displayed in the world cinema are "Bliss" by Irene Felici from Poland, "Belovevd" by Yaser Talebi from Iran,  "Voices From The Silence" by Joshua Wahlen and Alessandro Seidita from Italy, "Juan Brito: Tamia" by  Alfonso Palazón Meseguer from Spain, " Blue Butterfly" by Okan Erünsa from Turkey, "Wedding of Zinat's Son" by Farhad Veraham from Iran, "The Dinosaur Egg" from Josefina Recio from Argentina, " Călărași - A Land By The Gate Of Heaven" by Dumitru Grosei, "Terra" by Julia Kushnarenko from Russia, "Peloton Against Plastic " by Jamie Lepre and   Paul Hellier from Argentina, "Those Songs and Lullabies I Used to Sing"  by Kombong Darang from India, "Carving The Divine" by Yujiro Seki. 

The documentaries which displayed in the competition section of World Cinema are "Strong Beat" by Vadim Vorontsov from Russia, "We Were Soldiers" by Svitlana Smirnova from Ukraine, "Wife" by    Kirsten Gainet from Russia as well as "Lotus" by Mohammad Reza Vatan Doost from Iran.      

Presided by Fuad Jalal, the festival was organized by Masti Film Company and Mullah Bakhtiar the official in charge of supporting the festival, Fuad Jalal, Festival Manger and head of Masti Film Company, Danar Omar Fares, Artistic Director Festival, Lina Raza, Program Director of the Festival and a number of prominent artists.

At least 134 films from 79 countries, especially the production of 2018 and 2019, in two sections including the World Cinema Competition (International); comprising feature and short films; documentary, animated and experimental, and the Kurdish Cinema (national) comprising feature and short works; documentary, animation and experimental will attend this international cinematic event.
