Flood-hit houses in southwest Iran to be fully renovated

"13,000 out of 20,184 flood damaged houses have been completely renovated," Nasrollah Dehqani, director of the headquarters tasked with coordinating the reconstruction processes of the flood-affected areas, said in an interview with the Ministry of Road and Urban Development’s news portal reporter.

Iran (IMNA) - Nasrollah Dehqani also noted that the reconstruction processes of the remained 3,600 flood hit houses have been physically progressed well and we hope that it will be finished in case of weather conditions getting better for open-air renovation operations.

Thousands of people in Khuzestan were evacuated in April after torrential rains inundated residential areas and farms.

After devastating flood in Khuzestan province, water struck serious damages in large parts of the city of Ahvaz. The flood damaged urban infrastructures and forced the evacuation of flood risk areas across south and southwest of Iran.

Intensive efforts have been carried out to advance the renovation operations in flood hit areas.
