Historical houses should be revived

Saying that there are 500 historical houses throughout the area and none of them owned by the municipality, the director of the district 3 of Isfahan municipality said, "The historical houses are considered as the good source of revenue in tourism sectors."

Iran (IMNA) – Warning that the situation of some old houses in Isfahan is alarming, Hossein Kargar noted, "Considering the private ownership issues and registration of houses, it is not easy for the municipality to get involved in the problems."

Emphasizing on the point that restoring historical houses requires comprehensive urban management, so that trustee organizations such as the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism organization, General Directorate of Endowments Affairs, and the municipality will save the historical houses of the city, he added, "the owners of historical houses can make benefit of them as tourism destinations. If the houses are utilized and restored, the municipality will provide the necessary support."

Pointing out that several meetings have been held with the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism department for the purpose of restoring historical houses, he continued, "The historical monuments will be inquired from the CHT organization before taking any action by the municipality."

"In case of any possible restoration, the owners of historical houses should refer to the municipality as quickly as possible, so that the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism organization will cooperate and contribute in this regard. If some owners are not interested in the renovation processes or they cannot afford it, they should refer to the organization and transfer the house for further investigation," he also said.
