Iran (IMNA) – Saying that the intensity, duration, and amount of rainfall would lead to flood, but the combination of factors has caused devastating floods in our country and put 23 provinces at risk, Reza Ardakanian noted, "The amount of rainfall only during the first two weeks of the March was 19 times more than the amount of rainfall during the last year."
"Flood causes damages in temperate and high rainfall areas, but our country is located in an arid and semi-arid area. If some theories confirmed, we may face severe droughts and wet years; therefore, we should take the most advantage of rainfalls," he continued.
Emphasizing on the point that officials should benefit from floods, he also said, "We know that flood is an inevitable natural phenomenon, so required equipment should be provided to take more advantage of floods instead of damages."
