Topsy-turvy weather couldn't stop Iranian from traveling

"Despite the topsy-turvy weather, the number and length of visitors' stays have increased by 6 percent, in comparison to the last year," Iran’s deputy head of Tourism Organization and director of the country's travel services coordination headquarter said.

Iran (IMNA) – Appreciating the efforts of all responsible organizations, Vali Teimouri added, "latest statistics indicates that 74 million and 300 night stays have been registered during holiday; on average, it can be said that 18 million domestic travels has been carried out during Nowrouz."

"The number of foreign tourists during the 14 days of holiday was reported to be 183 thousand and 280; it has increased by 16.71 percent compared with the same period last year. Despite the U.S hostile measures against Iran, the number of foreign tourists indicates their desire to travel to Iran," he continued.

"377 thousand people have traveled abroad in Nowruz holidays; the statistics has decreased by 32 percent in comparison to the last year. Altogether, despite the mentioned conditions, tourism industry gained a good position during Nowrouz 2019," Teimouri said.
