Iran (IMNA) – Pointing to this fact that every year, Isfahan municipality distributes saplings among citizens for free to promote the lovely costume of planting tree, Forough Mortezaeenejad said, "Considering the citizens' warm welcome from the free saplings distribution plan to develop the private green space and enjoying the environmental, cultural, and social advantages, electronic registration plan of distributing saplings is being taken out for the fifth consecutive year."
Announcing the slogan of Tree Planting Week of this year as "every sapling, a hope", she added, "40,000 saplings including eight species of Sarvenaz, Paulownia, Crepe myrtle, apple, quince, jujube, olive, and persimmon trees will be distributed among people in this plan."
"The type of selected saplings has been considered based on the people's requests and sapling distribution in the last years, and the number of saplings to distribute in each district is according to the population of that area," she continued.
"The parks organization is going to hold a photo contest for citizens titled "My historical garden city", with the cooperation of cultural, social, and sport organization of Isfahan municipality. To participate in this competition and win the award, Citizens can send photos with the themes of trees role in the houses, influence of old trees in the city, and also the position of trees in the art of Isfahan," she noted.
Citizens can send their photos from March 6 to April 4.
