Iran (IMNA) – Pointing to visiting Isfahan as a pilot of child-friendly city, Leila Dooman said, "I have realized that Shiraz has a long way to pass in order to be like child friendly cities such as Isfahan that has completed the required infrastructures."
Referring to the creation of administrative structure in the urban planning department for child-friendly city as the first step that Shiraz has taken in this regard, she noted, "The mayors of different districts in Shiraz were asked to design the urban toys based on standards and hopefully effective measures have been carried out during these months."
"Establishing a new children's cultural center with an area of 4,000 square meters, and changing the usage of one of the city's building in a populated area into a children's creativity center are among the other infrastructure measures in this regard," she added.
"The programs are aimed at fostering children's cognitive development and improving their social interaction, I believe that such cross-sectional programs should not be considered as the purpose, but it is a way to count children as the main citizens of the city; the municipality can realize the dreams of a child-friendly city with the cooperation of other organizations," she emphasized.
