Water crisis directly related to urban resilience

Saying that Isfahan municipality has cherished the World Cities Day by holding some programs in the central library of Isfahan municipality, the mayor of Isfahan said, "The motto of the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 was making cities more sustainable and resilient."

Isfahan (IMNA) - "We have to move toward improving the inefficient urban anatomy and renovating the worn-out textures in Isfahan with the participation of development-oriented citizens," Nowrouzi added.

Referring to the water shortage crisis, he said, "The water crisis is directly related to the urban resilience, this year, we have passed the summer despite the water shortage crisis. Undoubtedly, if people didn’t involve in the water consumption management and there wasn’t  any proper planning  as well, passing through the summer would be very difficult. However, a number of trees of the city have been damaged so far."

Pointing out that the water shortage problem doesn’t only exist in Isfahan, but it is a national and global crisis, he added, "We will face this problem next year too, and the citizens' cooperation should continue to overcome the current situation, and preserve the trees which are a part of city's identity."

Referring to holding the book fair in Isfahan, he said, "The book fair has been held since some days ago at the permanent site of Isfahan exhibition located in the historical Shahrestan Bridge; I invite all citizens, students, professors, and other enthusiasts to visit this exhibition."
