Isfahan (IMNA) – "The measures taken out in the water consumption and distribution management sector include using 7100 irrigators and observer experts for the round-the-clock irrigation of the green space, providing and distributing about 30,000 water tankers during the summer, and using wastewater after secondary treatment to irrigate the green space along the highways and the greenbelt of the city," Forough Mortezaeenejad said.
Announcing the increase of 210,000 square meters of under pressure irrigation systems and reforming the existing irrigation systems, she added, "Doing different agricultural activities and reforming the soil in order to increase the water storage capacity in soil are the other measures taken in the water consumption and distribution management sector."
"In cropping pattern management sector, prohibition of planting grass and removing 217,000 square meters of the grass which requires high amount of water, and replacing with resistant grass have been done," she continued.
"Planting drought-tolerant trees and shrubs which require low amount of water, planting permanent plants which can withstand dryness instead of planting seasonal flowers which require high amount of water are the other carried out activities of the parks and green space organization of Isfahan municipality in cultivation pattern management sector," she said.
