Gavkhooni lagoon to be revived in near future

"Seven projects are going to be executed to solve the water shortage problem of Isfahan; one of them is reviving the Gavkhooni lagoon with the capacity of 60 million cubic meters," the governor general of Isfahan said.

Isfahan (IMNA) - Announcing the implementation of these projects, Mehralizadeh said, "If there won't be any necessary cooperation, we may not even be able to prevent the human migration in the next few years."

"The provision of water and new resources in the ZayandeRood river basin ranges from 1,100,000,000 to 1,600,000,000 cubic meters, including transferring water from the Koohrang and Behesht Abad dam and other resources, is a part of the implementation processes of this project," he said.

"Some parts of the implementation processes of this plan such as installing 450 "smart water meters" has been done in one basin, and other phases of the project like collecting the wastewater of Isfahan and directing it to the agricultural lands will be implemented in the future by observing all standards and allocating the credit of 250 billion tomans," he noted.

Saying that organizing the Zayandeh-Rood River condition from the source to the Gavkhooni lagoon is the other strategy to be implemented, he added, " Monitoring the annual distribution of water from the source to the end, and installing tubes for about 200 kilometers in some directions is the other part of implementation processes of this plan."
