Isfahan (IMNA) – "More than 70 percent of air pollution of Isfahan metropolis is due to the vehicle traffic specially motorcycles," Alireza Salavati said. "About 1,300,000 motorcycles involved in Isfahan traffic, therefore, more than 30 percent of air pollution and 49 percent of noise pollution is related to motorcycles," he added.

"The first step to promote the culture of using electric motors was transferring the technology to the province to manufacture the electric motors," Salavati continued. "Providing infrastructures, designing and building the charging stations to install in the central parts of the city to facilitate citizens' access  to clean vehicles are among the activities of this department. Furthermore, in the long-term, plans to ban gasoline motors' traffic in the central and historical areas of the city is another important action in this regard," he noted.
