Isfahani citizens become professional book readers

" The number of people borrowing books from the libraries affiliated to Isfahan municipality has increased by 15% in the first 5 months of this year in comparison to the last year," the head of library and study hall affairs department of cultural, social, and sports organization of Isfahan municipality said.

Isfahan (IMNA) – Pointing to the increase in borrowing books and membership in Isfahan municipality libraries, Tayebeh Fatemi said, "The citizens' membership in the libraries and the membership renewal has increased by 5% and 9% respectively in comparison to the last year."

"Buying suitable and resource books for libraries, the successful popularizing reading books by the library affairs department of Isfahan municipality, the proper behavior of the librarians and the libraries staffs with citizens, honoring library members, and providing the most amount of information in the least time are very effective in promoting membership growth," Fatemi continued.

"librarian child", "librarian youth","book, mother, child", "wisdom seat", "little economists", "Friday market of books", "interlibrary loans" and "courier of knowledge" are the accomplished projects of this organization.

Referring to the activities of the special libraries in law, Shi'a, sports, arts, and Isfahanology, she noted, "Promotion of a reading culture aims to publicize reading among members of the general public; this can be fulfilled through developing media literacy, interlibrary collaboration with the universities, book therapy, the research stations in some of the libraries, and selective dissemination of information service (SDI)."
