“Modern use of brick in the facade of Isfahan buildings is a proper action due to the historical background of this material; but their harmony with the surrounding texture is a high priority. Despite different tastes and approaches to building design, contractors should maintain architectural principles as many imitative and repetitive facades are expanding in Isfahan,” Mehrnaz Ostovari stated.
Imitating the architectural styles or using disproportionate styles are not in harmony with Isfahan identity; for example, a modern building in the middle of a worn-out texture with simple facades would violate the architectural vision of the city. Innovation design approach is useful in this regard as long as it observes the harmony with the surrounding buildings; unfortunately this principle is ignored in Isfahan,” she said.
"Beautiful lattice works are the abundance patterns in many historical buildings of Isfahan such as Hakim Mosque. Using this lattice patterns in the facade of the city buildings is an inspiration of traditional architecture of Isfahan that if correctly designed, they will have positive effects in the appearance of the city. Using these architectural methods in various styles while considering the principles of architecture can lead to a diversity and harmony in the type and style of Isfahan urban design.
