Isfahan; Iran's traffic culture pilot

"Considering the fact that traffic culture based programs of Isfahan municipality are unique throughout the country and in response to Iranian cities traffic officials' request, Isfahan has become the traffic culture pilot so that other cities can follow the example of Isfahan in this regard," Isfahan deputy mayor for transportation and traffic said.

Isfahan (IMNA) – "Eight committees in the transportation commission of the Metropolitan Forum of the country have been established. In this regard, the responsibility of the Legal, Budget, and Investment Committee were upon the municipality of  Isfahan then we targeted two main issues in the committee meeting," Alireza Salavati said.

"In the first issue, it was emphasized on the efforts and follow-ups to get the approved budget of the municipalities from the government. Despite the fact that we have many demands of the government in the domain of transportation, its subsidies, and infrastructure subsidies, the government has not helped us yet. So, it was appointed that by forming a taskforce and in full cooperation with the members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the municipality's financial claims would be met," he added.

"It was also suggested that the income fund should support us financially to develop the transportation, whereby the programs related to the clean transportation can be implemented," Salavati mentioned. Pointing to the proposed issues regarding renovation of the bus fleet, he mentioned, "If the government meet the financial demands in this regard, there will be a growing trend; then we can perform the necessary follow ups to implement the considered promises."
