Children filmfest puts spotlight on humanitarian, ethical issues

Alireza Rezaad Secretary of Iran’s 31st International Film Festival for Children and Youth said the event has put its spotlight on displaying the works based on humanitarian and ethical issues.

In an interview with Russian TV “Russia 1”, Rezadad stressed that each year 10-15 children and youth films are produced in Iran based on capacities of cinema salons inside the country. Commenting on the festival, which is currently underway in central province of Isfahan, he added that this year 150 students  attended in the second Youth Filmmaking Olympiad in Iran.

Rezadad noted that the festival has been highly welcomed by large number of children and families in this historic city. He added that 73 films have been produced in Olympiad section of the festival of which one of them was from Tehran province and the rest were from other cities across the country. Rezadad underscored that a 15-member jury including three Iranian and 12 foreign members will evaluate the selected works in the festival.

The 31st edition of International Film Festival for Children and Youth inaugurated on August 30 in central Province of Isfahan and the event would be wrapped up in September 5.
