Isfahani Women to end up plastic pollution

Separation from the source, special waste, hazardous waste, no nylon, and vermicompost fertilizer are the terms that Isfahani housewives are getting more familiar with them by attending the training classes of the Isfahan waste management organization.

Isfahan (IMNA) – The waste management organization of Isfahan municipality with the cooperation of the cultural centers of 15 municipal districts has begun the housewives' visiting tours of organic fertilizer and recycling factory since June to create culture and promote the citizens' knowledge regarding the disadvantages of using nylon bags; so far 300 citizens have participated in these tours. The tours have been planned for the housewives, and it has been supposed that 120 persons from each municipal district visit the organic fertilizer factory. These tours have been planned in such a way that besides the housewives' training, their behavioral patterns will be also changed regarding recycling, and end up the "plastic pollution" literally.

12 hours per day is spent to separate the waste

One thousand tons of domestic waste has been collected daily throughout the city; then they are entered into the organic fertilizer factory from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. The workers of the recycling factory separate the organic and inorganic waste for 12 hours in order to return the recycled materials to the use cycle. 

7 percent of Isfahan daily waste is nylon

Nylon is among one of the items that is currently produced in large quantities, so that 7 percent of Isfahan daily waste is 70 tons of "nylon". These issues are the dilemmas threatening the city.
