Isfahan to target literacy development among foreigner students

Pointing to 212 foreign students who are studying in Isfahan schools, the deputy of Isfahan Education and Literacy department said," the cost of studying for each of these students is estimated about 500 to 700 thousand tomans which is going to be paid by Denmark.

Isfahan (IMNA) – "Eight thousand and 333 students are studying in literacy education centers in Isfahan, of which about one thousand and five hundred are foreigners. At the moment, 12 learning centers are active throughout the city," Bahman Omid Ghayemi, the deputy of Isfahan Education and Literacy department said.

"Currently, there are 12 active learning centers throughout the province in which social, cultural, political, and religious lessons are also taught to students in addition to teaching reading and writing skills. Also, last year about 400 child labour were studying in literacy education centers of Isfahan; this year we are going to increase the capacity to help more children to be literate" he added.

Saying that Falavarjan, Semirom and Frieden respectively have the largest number of illiterate people in Isfahan province, said: "Accordingly, we have established three local learning centers in Falavarjan to overcome illiterateness in this county." In the end, this is the responsibility of national government to strengthen and increase the public awareness of the importance of education and literacy.
